Weekly check-in with Jessica from the UMaine 4-H Learning Centers at Tanglewood and Blueberry Cove. With the 4-H and Earth Pledges, nature appreciations (what we've been noticing in nature this week), and a reflection.
Our reflection today comes from a Yogi tea bag. Reading it made us think about our programming and how we do our best to model that it is the process of learning or the experience had along the way that is as valuable (if not more so) than simply getting to "point B" or completion.
"Many paths lead to the same destination; it doesn't matter how you get there."
Each of us learns in different ways; and, often we find that how we may complete a task may be different from what another might do--even if our outcomes or results are similar. That is the magic of life and the learning process; it's in part what makes us individuals. It is easy to get sucked into feeling or believing that there is "one way" to do something. Sometimes, we may even find that we've arrived at a destination without being aware of how we got there! My challenge for us this week is to be open and more aware of our process. What do we notice and learn along the way? That journey or experience has the potential to be a rich and valuable time if we are open to being present to it.
We are gearing up for our 2022 program season starting with our winter ecology programs. Schools are beginning to schedule spring programs as well, which then leads to the launch of summer. Registration is going to open soon and we are hopeful and optimistic that many of the traditional camp programs we all know and love will open and run this summer. Of course, much depends on the pandemic. With that said, please continue to take care of yourselves and your families and stay safe. See you next week! ❤️🍀
