Weekly check-in with Jessica from the UMaine 4-H Learning Centers at Tanglewood and Blueberry Cove. With the 4-H and Earth Pledges, nature appreciations (what we've been noticing in nature this week), and a reflection.
This video was recorded in the afternoon of 02/01/2022 at Lincolnville Beach. Sometimes our lives get busy and even routine activities get moved around. As cumbersome as that can be, sometimes it allows for spontaneous magic to happen. Case in point: a busy day of teaching leading to an afternoon reflection on the beach. The sun over Penobscot Bay was too beautiful to pass up. It had been a while since we had walked here and were amazed at how far out the "shore" was due to a very low tide!
With dramatic changing weather patterns, we've had an awesome time observing how the weather impacts all living things outside. There were even a few surprises after last Saturday's snowstorm, including some incredible wandering tracks from an unknown animal and an ermine in Jessica's woodshed.
As a reflection this week, we're simply leaving you with some time at the seashore. We are fortunate to live so near to the sea, something that many don't have access to. The slow whoosh of a gentle wave on a calm day and the feel of sand beneath your feet (or snowboots) is very calming. We hope this virtual ocean visit brings you some peace. It sure did for us after a long day.
Until next week, I hope you and yours are doing well, staying healthy. Take care of yourselves. ❤️🍀
